The Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum Case Study You'll Never Forget

Best Self-Expelling Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

We suggest getting a robot mop and vacuum that comes with a user-friendly base station. This makes it easy to change or wash cleaning pads and empty the water tank that is dirty.

Also, think about a model that is connected to Wi-Fi so you can set automated/set times for your runs and map your home and use mop/vacuum switching features.

1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra

This powerful robot mop and vacuum is a real workhorse. It cleans floors, detects rugs and automatically empties its own dustbin and water tanks. It also has powerful suction and even dispensing detergent. All of this functionality comes with a price tag of $1200. It's the highest-priced robot vacuum and mop package I've ever reviewed.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to install right out of the box. After plugging it in, it prompts you to identify your home with sensors and will use this information to avoid obstacles. In our tests it did not get stuck on power cords, long curtains and even dog toys. It isn't perfect though and occasionally ran into things like tangled wires, some odd book or toy.

You can control the S7 Max Ultra via its smartphone app, which is where you'll find all the advanced features that distinguish it from other robotic vacuums and mop. There are room-specific mopping and cleaning options along with a planner for scheduling and power strength selections for mopping and vacuuming. It is also possible to integrate the S7 Max Ultra with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa to create a smart home. The wide range of features makes the S7 Max Ultra can do almost anything a standard robot vacuum does, but at less than half the price.

The S7 Max Ultra's ability to vacuum is impressive and it did a very excellent job of removing dirt, pet hair, and other debris on both carpet and hard floors. Its automatic dust bin-emptying feature performed perfectly during our tests, which was very reassuring. It also boasts a 5100 Pa HyperForce suction rating, which is significantly higher than the 2,500Pa performance of the S6 MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra mopping performance was also satisfactory but not the best. It utilized the special microfiber mop pad that sucks up liquids and uses sonic vibration technology to scrub your floors up to 3,000 times per minute, which is a bit quicker than the X1 Omni's circular pads, which spin at 180 revolutions per minute. The S7 Max Ultra’s ReactiveAI 2.0 obstruction recognition system is extremely effective. In our tests, it didn't get stuck on anything, and it avoided power cords, curtains, and other obstructions that could be a problem 100% of the time.

2. Narwal Freo

It is an activity that is hated by many, yet it is essential to keep your home clean. It's a messy and often smelly task that can be difficult to complete because it requires dirty water, dustbins and the necessity to ensure that debris or hair does not clog traps or brushes. This is the reason why mopping and vacuuming machines have become so popular. Many of these devices require you to empty the dustbin and wash and rinsing mop pads manually. This can be a hassle particularly if you have to do this several times in between cleaning sessions. That is why we're happy to see that a lot of companies are introducing self-emptying robots that make the whole process much more hassle-free.

The Narwal Freo, the newest addition to the robotic cleaner category, comes with a number of enhancements in sensors, software, and hardware that are designed to keep it at the top of its game. The patent-pending DirtSense Technology and Smart-Swing feature both work together to better recognize the surface being cleaned and then automatically alter the cleaning mode according to the type of floor. The Freo also detects levels of dirtiness and automatically cleans its mops when they are full, which increases the effectiveness of subsequent cleaning sessions, as they are not returning to areas that are soiled.

Another great improvement that the Freo has over its predecessor is the capability to direct control it using an LCD touchscreen on the base station, in addition to using the smartphone app. This is the first robot vacuum and mop combo to have this feature. It's a welcome addition if you don't want to use the app. You can even optimize the routing mid-session with the controls on the LCD screen and make sure that the robot is doing exactly what you want it to do.

The Narwal Freo is also quiet when in suction mode with a noise level of only 63dB. Despite this, maintenance for the Freo isn't completely hands-free as you'll need to regularly clean different components such as the main brush roll and side brushes.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T9+

The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ ( robot vacuum bagless self emptying  at The Good Guys for $1279) is among the most self-emptying robot vacuums and mop combos available on the market. It can plan out your home and mop and vacuum while detecting and avoiding obstructions. It can even release an air freshener, which is a pretty nice touch.

It is easy to set up, using the app to create an accurate map of your home that it uses while cleaning. Then, you can utilize the app to pick certain rooms or specific areas to clean. You can also select the time you'd like it start cleaning, so that your floors are clean while you're sleeping or away.

In our tests, we discovered the T9+ to be exceptionally good at getting around obstacles. However, it did have a tendency to take a few errands around the house, which frequently meant that it ended returning to the exact spot it started cleaning just minutes earlier. This wasn't a lot of times but it was noticeable enough to be noticed and something worth noting down.

The T9+ comes with a variety of accessories that include the robotic cleaner as well as a docking station and an auto-empty station. The mopping module and a replacement dust bin are sold separately.

The new navigation mapping, mapping, and obstacle detection systems are designed to keep your home tidy without interruptions. The updated 3D obstacle detection and avoidance technology recognizes objects with high-precision, avoiding collisions, entanglements, or disruptions.

The Deebot T9+ is capable of sweeping, vacuuming and mopping at the same time leaving your floor looking as fresh as new. The disposable mopping pad is simple to use and the microfiber cloth effectively absorbs dust and seals off stains without leaving any remnants. The large volume 2.5L auto-empty station holds up to 30 days of debris without leaks, making it simple to keep your home neat with minimal effort. The T9+ features an upgraded 3000Pa motor that provides powerful suction to achieve the most thorough cleaning.

4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ is a great robot to clean floors. It's a mop and vacuum all in one and it has both excellent obstacle avoidance and home navigation. It can map your clean and tidy areas without bumping into walls or furniture. The app allows you to set up zones to indicate areas that must be cleaned as well as areas that you don't want it to clean. You can also establish boundaries for no-mop and non-sweep zones.

IRobot's iAdapt 2.0 technology is a significant element of what makes the Combo j7+ so smart. It uses the front camera that sits atop the majority of its robots. It can identify dangers, such as power cords or pet waste, and avoid them. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo J7+ robot to detect dirt levels and concentrate more on the areas.

When the Combo J7+ detects it is on a surface that must be cleaned, an arm of a robot with mop pad lifts off from underneath the vacuum. Then, it mops the floor until the mopping pad is dry which takes just 90 minutes.

The Combo j7+ can also sense carpeting, which is great for homes that have carpeting and carpets. It won't try to push the rug across and instead, it will turn away if the device feels it is unable to cross the area without damaging the carpet or itself.

I found it easy to control the Combo J7+ through the mobile application, which is user-friendly and well-designed. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa so you can start cleaning with voice. The only drawback I could find was that the Combo j7+'s smaller water tank means that you need to refill it frequently, or else limit its mopping to smaller areas and run it in eco-mode more often.

The Combo J7+ has a tiny dust bin which you have to empty manually. The Combo mop pads are also less effective than other brands. This is a pity as this robot is otherwise a great machine.
